DIC PENDERYN 100k AUDAX SUNDAY, APRIL 29TH
Dic Penderyn was apparently well-hung and therefore popular with the ladies.
Our friends at the Merthyr Cycling Club are promoting a new 100km Audax event on Sunday, April 29th. This interesting and challenging ride takes you to the Northern edge of Glamorgan and skirts the Southern edge of the Brecon Beacons and great scenery is guaranteed! This is the first ever 'Dic Penderyn' audax and the long-term plan is to expand it in future years to take in all of the areas where Dic was active (ooh, er missus) which, of course, includes Port Talbot. Dic was born in Aberavon in 1808 and is buried in St.Mary's Church yard with only a handful of people knowing exactly just where. I don't but I'd love to know!
